Impressions

Why have husbands at all?
Christ/Husbands

 ·       God has revealed Himself  in Christ as the husband of the Church.  To eliminate the distinction and role of the husband in the family is to forfeit the ability to live in the relationship revealed in Ephesians 5.

·         Living together out of wedlock is a sin against the 6th Commandment and a denial of the relevance of Christ as the Bridegroom.

The Importance of Promise
·         God always enters into covenant relationship with His Church on the basis of promise.  To reflect Christ is to promise Christ’s love and faithfulness to your wife as the basis of your marriage

 ·       Living together out of wedlock is to live apart from promise.  No faithfulness can be expected where none has been promised.
